Description
The Education for Success project's objective is to assist youth at risk to develop, acquire and use the educational and life skills needed for a productive life of work, service, and professional development. The project supports an integrated program for at-risk youth in five conflict-vulnerable municipalities in the Southern Autonomous Caribbean Coast Region (RACCS) -- Bluefields, Pearl Lagoon, Kukra Hill, Corn Island and Desembocadura del Rio Grande targeting youth aged 10-29. The project has four components: Scholarships, Life Skills, Community Engagement, and Private Sector Support, as well as a component on internal institutional capacity building. Note: A September 28, 2012 modification added two new municipalities, La Desembocadura del Rio Grande and Corn Island, to the original three municipalities. Private sector engagement and participation for EFS is in the form of MOUs creating partnerships for internships and full-time employment for graduates of the EFS technical vocational training short courses.
