Half the Sky Movement Media and Technology Engagement Initiative for Women and Girls

The project will increase the reach and scale of the two main elements of HTSM: - Television: 2-part, 4-hour documentary program which tells the dramatic life stories of women and girls in six countries and their transformations with the help of relevant NGOs. - Facebook Game: a social action game on Facebook that draws and links local and global players as they take on the role of a young woman in India overcoming barriers to achieve independence, empowerment and financial stability. The platform offers unique opportunities for dialogue and social activism about gender among users. The game features an innovative design where actions within gameplay are translated into real world donations. Additionally, the project builds upon the success of the three mobile games, 18 videos, and community implementation guide created under an earlier USAID award.
