Yunus Social Business Uganda

USAID and YSB have a joint interest in identifying ways to spur the growth and expansion of social businesses, and to test new models for enabling social businesses to access investment capital, all within an entrepreneurial ecosystem which is dynamic and financially self-sustaining. USAID and YSB intend to collaborate to stimulate social business entrepreneurship through the initiation and operation of Social Business incubator funds (“Incubator Funds”). Under this approach, each Incubator Fund consists of two components, an incubator and a fund. The incubator searches for social business entrepreneurs, trains them, helps them improve their business plans and provides post-investment support. The Incubator Fund provides debt and equity financing to the Social Businesses.
